There are heaps of reasons why you could be owed a tax refund, so it’s no surprise to us that most of our customers have paid more tax than they need to. Our tax refund service can calculate your tax situation within seconds and you won’t pay a cent until we’ve confirmed your refund with IRD.

If your tax situation is a bit complex, you’re probably required to file an income tax return - even if you think you could be owed a tax refund. If you’re required to file a tax return, our tax return services are just what you need.

Our minimum tax refund fee is just $19. Owed a refund between $10 - $38? We don't think it's fair to take $19 of that as our fee, so we don't. For refunds this size we'll split your refund with you 50/50, making our minimum fee even cheaper.

With WooHoo as your nominated tax agent, the deadline for filing your tax return will be extended from July 7 to March 31 the following year.

Register with our tax agency by July 6 to claim your filing extension.

Relevant technical expertise specific to schedular income to ensure your tax return is correct.

Tax preparation fees and some income protection insurance premiums are tax deductible expenses. If you've incurred these expenses we'll claim for them in your return.

Standard Package

For anyone working for themselves or as a contractor

We'll prepare, e-file, and follow up with IRD to make sure your tax return is processed correctly.

With WooHoo as your nominated tax agent, the deadline for filing your tax return will be extended from July 7 to March 31 the following year.

Register with our tax agency by July 6 to claim your filing extension.

We'll calculate the amount of tax payable from a specific activity, like income you've earned from self-employment.

For example:

  • Self-employment income and expenses, and
  • Share investment income and expenses

Require more than 1 tax calculation? Add as many Tax Calculation add-ons to your package as you need for just $150 each.

A transaction is a single amount of income or expense that we're required to process individually for your tax return.

For example:

  • A single expense receipt
  • A spreadsheet summarising multiple expenses or business transactions
  • A completed WooHoo transaction summary document (ask us how to get yours)

If you need more than your 50 transactions, you can add as many extra transactions to your package as you need for just $15 per 20 transactions.

For anyone with rental properties, bed and breakfasts, or holiday houses

We'll prepare, e-file, and follow up with IRD to make sure your tax return is processed correctly.

With WooHoo as your nominated tax agent, the deadline for filing your tax return will be extended from July 7 to March 31 the following year.

Register with our tax agency by July 6 to claim your filing extension.

We'll calculate the amount of tax payable on income from your property under the tax conditions that  are specific to the type of property you have.

For example

  • Income and expenses from one investment/rental property, or
  • Income and expenses from one bed and breakfast, or
  • Income and expenses from one holiday home

Require additional tax calculations? Add as many Extra Tax Calculation add-ons to your package as you need for just $150 each.

A transaction is a single amount of income or expense that we're required to process individually for your tax return.

Examples of a transaction:

  • A schedule summarising several transactions
  • A single receipt provided that requires scanning
  • Customer completion of a WooHoo template

If you need more than your 50 transactions, you can add as many extra transactions to your package as you need for just $15 per 20 transactions.

Other Fees

What we charge school students
School Students

We reduce our maximum tax refund fee for high school students aged 16+ to just $25. If an income tax return is required in order to receive a tax refund, our usual tax return fees still apply.

What we charge for processing donations
Processing Donations

Claim donation tax credits on your donations to approved organisations for just $25 per filing, per tax year. A $25 amendment fee applies to any changes requested on a filed donation tax credit claim.

What we charge for sending a cheque
Cheque Postage

For your peace of mind and security, we send all cheques via courier. A $5 delivery fee applies to each cheque we send you.

What we charge when you ask us to cancel a cheque
Cheque Cancellation

A $35 cancellation fee applies to any cheques we're required to cancel on your behalf. Remember to bank any cheques you receive within 6 months of the issue date so they don't expire.

What we charge for unsolicited payments
Unsolicited Payments

A $25 unsolicited payment fee applies to any unexpected payments we receive from IRD on your behalf. These payments usually relate to overpaying student loan repayments or receiving Working for Families tax credits.

What we charge for international bank transfers
Intl. Bank Transfers

A $25 transfer fee applies to any payments you request to have transferred to an offshore bank account. If you need to set up an international bank transfer, chat with our support team.
